Statement of Partnership Authority Registration:
Filing is optional, but mandatory if partnership intends
to hold real estate in its name. Initial registration is
with the Secretary of State. A certified copy must also
be filed with the clerk of any county in which the partnership
owns real estate. (Section 48-7A-105).

Registration of business name requirements:
Registration is mandatory. The applicant must register
electronically with the Office of the Secretary
of State or with the office of the Register of Deeds
in each county where the person intends to conduct
business. (Section 37-11-1).
Business name registration fee: $10.00
Term of registration: Five years. (Section 37-11-1).
Name requirements: None stated in statute.
Registration application requirements: The applicant
must file a statement before the person intends
to conduct business. The statement must contain the
name of the owner(s), the post office address of the
owner(s), the residence address of the owner(s), and
the address where the principal place of business is
located. (37-11-1).
Publication requirements: The applicant is not
required to publish the fictitious name. However,
the Register of Deeds does have the fictitious name
published. (Section 37-11-1).
Office for registration of business name: The applicant
must register with the office of the Register
of Deeds in each county where the person intends to
conduct business or electronically on the Secretary of
State web site. (Section 37-11-1).
