Free Service Agreement (Architect)
This Architect Services Agreement is between a client/property owner and an architect who will provide certain architectural services. This agreement contains the specific terms of the arrangement including the scope of the project, design phases from inception to completion and any additional services the architect will perform. It also includes the responsibilities of the owner and how much the architect will be paid. It is imperative this agreement be set out in writing rather than via oral agreement. A written Architect Services Agreement will be valuable in the event of miscommunication or disagreements regarding the scope of the architectural project.

Parties: Name and address of the property owner and the architect;
Scope of Services: Sets out and defines the services which the architect is to perform including structural, mechanical and electrical services;
Design Phases: Detailed description of the inception through completion phases;
Owner's Responsibilities: Thorough list of the responsibilities of the owner including obtaining of surveys, permits and tests for hazardous materials and water pollution;
Payments: Sets out which expenses will be reimbursed to architect from owner and how much the architect will be compensated through each design phase;
Signatures: Client/Owner and architect must both sign this agreement.
