Free Service Agreement (Painting)
This Painting Services Agreement is between a client and a contractor who will provide painting services. This agreement sets out the specific terms of the arrangement including the location of the painting, the duration of the painting job (including the days and times the painter may work) and how much the painter will be paid. This agreement also sets out that the contractor is an independent contractor and not an employee or agent of the client. It is imperative that this agreement be memorialized in writing rather than via an oral contract. A written Painting Services Agreement will be helpful in the event there are disagreements or miscommunication regarding the scope of the painting services.
This Painting Services Agreement contains the following provisions:
Parties: The name and address of the client and the painting contractor;
Services: Sets forth a detailed list of painting services the contractor will perform (i.e., remove existing paint, priming, paint coating and clean-up);
Premises/Duration: Sets out the location and duration (times and dates) when the painters may work;
Equipment: The painting contractor will provide their own equipment unless otherwise specified;
Payment/Other Expenses: Sets out how much the painting contractor will be paid and the expenses which client will reimburse;
Independent Contractor: Painting contractor is an independent contractor and not an employee or agent of the client;
Termination: Client can terminate this agreement by written notice if contractor commits a breach and fails to remedy or if the painting is unacceptable;
Signature: Both client and painting contractor must sign the agreement.
